a birth certificate is essential
A birth certificate is an essential piece of information. Yet, many do not have one, whether it’s because they never received one or lost it and have yet to order a replacement birth certificate. How important is a birth certificate copy, really? To Jane Doe, it was vital.
Jane’s Story
Imagine watching someone walk up to your home on a dark night to leave a basket on your porch, only to discover there is a baby inside. This is exactly what happened to baby Jane Doe forty years ago. Those who found her on their porch called the police, who then took her to the hospital for examination.

Just three months old, Jane Doe then made her way to foster care, and it wasn’t long before she was adopted. For her entire life, Jane knew she was adopted. However, she wouldn’t know her origins until high school, when a family tree assignment caused her to call the adoption agency, who then informed her parents.
Today, Jane has made peace with the questions surrounding her humble beginnings, understanding that, sometimes, hard choices must be made. She suspects that’s exactly what caused her to be left on that porch so many years ago and, although she doesn’t understand the circumstances that caused the choice to be made, she is no longer angry about it.

Had it not been for her birth certificate, Jane might still be asking the very important question, “Who am I?” However, there are also many other reasons that having a birth certificate is so important.

What Your Birth Certificate Can Tell You

A birth certificate copy can not only reveal vital family links but also assist you in other ways. For example, in having this link to your family, you also have a link to your medical history, which can make it far easier to determine your predisposition to certain conditions and take preventative steps.

This vital link also connects you in terms of identity. In the United States, this document is one of the most vital for proving your identity and citizenship and is considered by local, state, and federal government agencies to be valid for this purpose.
Birth certificates are a required document when applying for a passport and various forms of identification, and they are also necessary to register for and receive several types of social and health care in the United States, among many other services.

I am the Jane doe you are referencing at the beginning and I actually DO NOT yet have a copy of my birth certificate... or my name or my birthday. But thanks for using my story to sell your product. That's awesome.
