VERMONT BIRTH CERTIFICATE
Which Method Should You Choose?
Unfortunately, FastBirthCertificates.com is unable to process birth certificate requests for the state of Vermont. Below are instructions on how to obtain a birth certificate directly from the state government.
We're sorry for the inconvenience.
The Old-Fashioned Way:
To request a certified Vermont birth certificate through the mail, you are required to complete the order form (PDF) hosted on the Secretary of State website. Keep in mind that you can request certificates only for births that took place in the state between 1909 and 2009; more recent records must be ordered through the Vermont Department of Health.
Unlike many states, Vermont places no restrictions on access to its birth records; anyone can order their own or another person’s certificate.
Certified copies of Vermont birth certificates cost $10 each. Make your check or money order (U.S. funds only) out to Vermont Secretary of State.
Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with your application.
The above materials should be mailed to this address:
Vermont State Archives and Records Administration
Office of the Secretary of State
1078 US Route 2, Middlesex
Montpelier, VT 05633-7701
